1. Introduction

Our website, https://lumidesigncorse.com (hereinafter: “the website”) uses cookies and other related technologies (for simplicity, all such technologies are referred to as “cookies”). Cookies are also placed by third parties we have engaged, when you choose to display their content. In the document below, we inform you about the use of cookies on our website.

You may review your choice at any time:

2. What are cookies?

A cookie is a small simple file sent with the pages of this website and stored by your browser on the hard drive of your computer or another device. The information stored in it may be sent back to our servers or to the servers of the relevant third parties during a subsequent visit.

3. What are scripts?

A script is a piece of code used to make our website function properly and interactively. This code is executed on our server or on your device.

4. Cookies and third-party content

4.1 Operation of the website

Without your consent, this website sets no cookie. A few items, necessary for its operation, are kept in your browser, on your device, and we may store them there without your consent:

  • the draft of your quotation request (key ld-devis), so that you can resume it: it is deleted as soon as the request is sent;
  • your choice regarding audience measurement and third-party service content, consent or refusal (key ld-accord), kept for six months;
  • the configurations prepared with our configurators, gathered into a project you can attach to the quotation (key ld-projet-v2), kept for thirty days at most, and, for the duration of the visit only, their thumbnails (key ld-projet-vignettes);
  • for the website’s games (arcade machine, pinball), your best scores, the top ten on the device and the three initials you have chosen (keys beginning with ld-scores);
  • for the duration of your visit, the project prepared with our tools before it is carried over into the quotation (key ld-projet), the record of the opening animation (key ld-intro) and the result of the three-dimensional display test (key v5-webgl).

These items remain on your device and are not transmitted to us.

Fonts are hosted with the website and no request is sent to Google Fonts.

4.2 Third-party services

Two Google services may set their cookies. Neither is loaded before your consent, given separately for each:

  • Google Analytics audience measurement, on all pages, described in section 6;
  • the Google Maps map of the showroom, on the Contact, About pages and on each service page; once displayed, Google receives your IP address and may set its cookies.

Until you have given your consent, a panel takes the place of the map. It states which service is concerned and carries a “Show this content” button, which constitutes consent for that service.

The “Directions” links open Google Maps in a new tab. Nothing is requested from Google Maps before that click.

A third Google service, reCAPTCHA, protects our forms against automated submissions. It does not depend on the banner, as it serves only their security, and it loads only when you fill in a form: see the protection against automated submissions.

4.3 Your choice

On your first visit, a banner offers you three buttons: “Reject all”, “Accept all” and “Customise”, which lets you choose service by service. Refusing does not deprive you of any page: the map stays closed and your visit is not measured.

Your choice is kept for six months in your browser, after which the banner asks you again. You may change it at any time via the “Manage my cookies” link at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw your consent, the map closes immediately; as for audience measurement, nothing more is sent to Google Analytics and the site immediately deletes its cookies _ga. Any cookies already placed by the Google Maps map, on Google’s domains, can be deleted from your browser settings.

5. Your contact and quotation requests

The information sent via the contact form (name, telephone number or e-mail address, service concerned, message) and via the quotation request (name, telephone number or e-mail address, municipality, description of your project) is used solely to respond to your request and is not transferred to third parties.

It reaches us by e-mail, through the mail service of our host o2switch (servers in France). The site keeps no copy of it on its servers.

The pergola configurator transmits nothing unless you ask it to: your configuration stays in your browser. If you ask to receive it by e-mail, the address you enter is used to send you that single message, through the mail service of our host o2switch (servers in France); it is not communicated to us and the site does not keep it. If you attach your configuration to a quotation request, it reaches us with that request.

Protection against automated submissions

So that our forms are not used by bots (unsolicited messages, bulk submissions), the contact form, the quotation request, sending a project from a configurator, receiving a configuration by e-mail and entering a score on the shared leaderboard are protected by reCAPTCHA v3, a Google service. It is invisible: no images to recognise, no box to tick.

When it loads. Never when a page opens: only when you start filling in one of these forms, or at the moment of submission. On other pages, and as long as you do not touch a form, nothing is requested from Google.

What Google processes. Once loaded, Google’s script receives your IP address and technical information about your browser and device, observes how the page is used and may place a cookie on its own domains (_GRECAPTCHA). From this it derives a score, which indicates whether the submission appears to come from a person or a bot. Our server verifies this score with Google, together with your IP address, then discards it: it is not kept. The content of your request is never sent to Google. Google may process this data outside the European Union, within the framework described in section 6 (Data Privacy Framework). This processing is governed by Google’s privacy policy and terms of service .

Why without the banner. This protection serves solely the security of the forms, which is our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR) and yours: it is strictly necessary for the submission you request, is used neither for audience measurement nor for advertising, and loads only on a form that you are filling in. If it cannot confirm a submission, the page tells you so and gives you our telephone number and e-mail address: your request is never lost without your knowing.

The games leaderboard

At the end of a game on the site’s arcade machine or pinball table, you may enter your score on the leaderboard with three initials, without a name or e-mail address. When the leaderboard shared between visitors is in operation, these three letters, the score, the game and the date are recorded on the site’s server (a hosted storage service linked to our host Vercel) and are visible to all visitors. The top one hundred scores for each game are kept. To limit abusive submissions, a truncated hash of your IP address is kept for ten minutes, then deleted; the address itself is not recorded. As long as this leaderboard is not in operation, your scores stay on your device and the leaderboard says so.

6. Audience measurement

With your consent (“Audience measurement” in the banner), we use Google Analytics 4, a service of Google Ireland Limited, to find out how many visits the site receives, which pages are read and which tools are actually used. Without this consent, the Google Analytics script is not loaded and nothing is sent to it.

What is measured. Pages viewed, the duration of the visit, its source (search engine, link, campaign), the type of device and browser, an approximate location (country, region, city) inferred by Google, and a few actions on the site: a click on the telephone number, e-mail or directions, opening a configurator, its steps and choices (model, colour, options, rounded dimensions), the successful submission of a request (its origin and the service, never its content), a field left in error (its name, never what is written in it), playing a video, opening a FAQ question, a game of pinball and its rounded score.

What is never sent. Your name, your telephone number, your e-mail address, your message, your photos, the code of your configurations. Google Analytics 4 does not record your IP address. Google signals and ad personalisation are disabled: these measurements serve only us, never advertising.

Cookies and durations. Only after your consent, Google Analytics places two cookies on the lumidesigncorse.com domain, _ga and _ga_668SRXFLGT, which distinguish one visit from the next. They last thirteen months at most and your visits do not extend them. Visit data is kept for fourteen months by Google, then deleted.

Transfer. Google may process this data outside the European Union, in particular in the United States. Google LLC participates in the EU-US data protection framework (Data Privacy Framework), recognised by the European Commission on 10 July 2023.

Withdrawing your consent. At any time, via the “Manage my cookies” link at the bottom of every page: untick “Audience measurement”. Nothing more is sent to Google Analytics and the site immediately deletes its cookies _ga.

7. Your rights

In accordance with the GDPR, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure and objection regarding your data. To exercise these rights, write to us at contact@lumidesigncorse.com.

The draft of a quotation request can be deleted from the Request a quote page (“Clear all”), or by clearing your browser’s site data.

8. This site, technically

This section restates the above policy in plain terms and describes what the site does, as published.

Hosting
The site is hosted by Vercel. It is static, meaning that its pages are written at the time of publication and served as they are. It has no database, no customer area and no login.
Fonts
The Lato and Raleway fonts are self-hosted in the site’s files. The site makes no calls to Google Fonts.
Trackers
The site uses no advertising pixels. Its cookie banner concerns two Google services, Google Analytics audience measurement and the Google Maps map: neither is loaded until you have given your consent. reCAPTCHA, which protects the forms, loads only when you fill one in (section 5).
Forms
The contact form and the guided quotation send an e-mail to LumiDesign through the mail service of our host o2switch, in France. Only the data you enter is transmitted. If the submission fails, the page says so and offers an e-mail from your own mail application. It never displays a confirmation without an actual submission.
Configurator
The configurator on the Configurator page is part of the site: it places no cookies. Your configuration stays in your browser and in the page address until you attach it to a quotation request or ask to receive it by e-mail. With your consent to audience measurement, the steps viewed and the choices made (rounded dimensions) are counted, without the configuration code.
Map
The Google Maps map of the showroom (Contact, About and service pages) is displayed in a frame, after your consent. The maps of Corsica drawn on the site are outlines written into its pages and call no service.
Three-dimensional scenes
The interactive scenes (pergola, awning, brise-soleil, shade sail, terrace, games room) are drawn in your browser by the three.js library, served with the site. Your settings stay on your device and are not recorded; with your consent to audience measurement, only the name of the option touched is counted.
Motion
Smooth scrolling and animations rely on Lenis and GSAP, served with the site. These libraries transmit no data. With reduced motion, animations stop at their final state; without JavaScript, everything remains readable.
What we do not know
Without your consent, we know nothing about your visit. With it, Google Analytics gives us aggregate figures (visits, pages, sources, actions), without your identity. The only personal information that reaches us is what you choose to send via the contact form or the quotation request.
