The louvres turn, the shade follows.

Three of these houses were filmed, from the ground and by drone. These clips are silent and only play while on screen. The full film of each project is on its page.

279 photographs, seen up close

What is shown in these photographs.

Discuss my project

279 photographs of our projects. These shoots mainly show adjustable louvres, seen from below in every position. Open, they fan out against the sky. Half open, they stripe a deck, a terracotta terrace or a long sofa with shadow. Closed, they give full shade. The structures are anthracite grey, white, copper brown or sage green.

Several roofs are photographed from the air: rectangles of louvres above an infinity pool, a row of sun loungers or a four-poster bed. The blinds appear in a double-height living room, raised, half drawn and then lowered, from the same viewpoint. Elsewhere, vertical blinds come down the side of a pergola, with the gulf showing through the fabric. There are also vertical timber louvres screening a view, a cable-stayed canopy above a walkway, and a long timber-louvre brise-soleil running along two façades of a flat-roofed villa.

The furniture is there too: a long table and its rattan chairs, a barbecue corner under the angle of a roof, poufs striped with shadow, a summer kitchen. The shoots were taken at different times of day, in full sun, at the end of the day by a pool, or as a pergola's LED strip lights up. Casa Mare is photographed into dusk, louvres open over a pale sea. Three projects are also filmed: you can see the louvres turn and a screen blind come down.

The names of the houses

Seven days, and six Corsican words.

Seven of our projects are named after a day of the week in Corsican: Luni, Marti, Marcuri, Ghjovi, Vennari, Sabbatu, Duminica. The other six bear a Corsican word: mare, the sea; monte, the mountain; palma, the palm tree; petra, the stone; sole, the sun; pinu, the pine. These names identify projects, not places.

  1. Open louvres seen from below against a deep blue sky, striped shadows on the deck, glazing and pool in the background. Luni Monday
  2. Anthracite pergola against the stone villa, outdoor lounge beneath, lawn in the foreground with the shadow of the louvres. Marti Tuesday
  3. Pergola with its LED strip lit at dusk, terrace, hot tub deck, violet sky. Marcuri Wednesday
  4. Anthracite pergola sheltering the summer kitchen: a half-lowered side blind striping the wall with shadow, table, garden, cumulus clouds. Ghjovi Thursday
  5. Under the white pergola, portrait format: half-open louvres, striped shadows, gulf. Vennari Friday
  6. Summer kitchen under the pergola: stainless steel sink in the foreground, dining table, a lowered vertical blind with the gulf showing through. Sabbatu Saturday
  7. Turquoise pool in the lower half, a two-storey stone villa topped by the anthracite pergola. Duminica Sunday
  1. Lounge striped with shadow, coffee table, railing and the sea on the horizon. Mare the sea
  2. Two anthracite grey bioclimatic pergolas: one in the foreground seen from below, the other behind on the villa’s upper terrace, above a rock garden. Monte the mountain
  3. Turquoise pool reflecting the palm trees, dry-stone steps and low walls, and on the upper terrace the villa’s anthracite grey bioclimatic pergola. Palma the palm tree
  4. Bioclimatic pergola with light louvres above the outdoor lounge: teak armchair and coffee table, sun lounger, infinity pool and the gulf opposite. Petra the stone
  5. Beneath the timber-louvred brise-soleil, portrait: striped shadows cover the tiled terrace, sliding bay window on the right, glass balustrade, maquis and gulf beyond. Sole the sun
  6. Sage green pergola against the white gable, corner view: a slender post in the foreground, timber terrace with cable railing, light armchairs, table football and dining table. Pinu the pine
