Your turn to play

Insert a coin and play.

An arcade machine is played standing up, one hand on the joystick, the other on the buttons. This one fits in the page, with two games: the snake and the blocks.

Click the machine: it takes over the keyboard. Esc gives it back to the page.

←↑→↓
Steer. The snake turns; the blocks slide, up rotates them, down speeds them up.
Space
Drop. The block falls straight down.
Enter
Confirm. Insert a coin, select, pause.
Esc
Pause. The keyboard returns to the page.

The D-pad steers. A confirms and rotates the blocks, B drops them or returns to the menu, Start pauses. You can also swipe on the screen.

Two demo games, written for this site. The machines we offer come with their own games: ask us which ones.

  • BlocksYour best: your turn

Victor’s score is coming: come back and challenge it.

  • Snake

It grows with each fruit and goes a little faster. It must touch neither the walls nor its own tail.

A fruit: 10 points, 5 more every five bites. Every seven, a blue gem appears for seven seconds: 50 points, plus 10 for each second left.

    Your record: your turn

  • Blocks

Seven shapes fall into the well, one after another. A full line clears; every ten lines, the fall speeds up.

One line: 100 points, two: 300, three: 500, four: 800, multiplied by the level. Hard drop: 2 points per cell.

    In short

    Multi-game machine: whatit means.

    1. One game, then several

Originally, an arcade machine offered only one game. Its board could run only that game, in a cabinet with a screen and a control panel. A multi-game machine keeps the cabinet, joystick and buttons, but its board gives access to several games, chosen from a menu.

    2. How it is played

More than its game list, an arcade machine is defined by how it is played: standing, joystick under the left hand, buttons under the right, screen at eye level, with sound coming from the cabinet. You do not get that on a sofa with a controller in hand.

    3. Other forms

The upright cabinet is the best-known form. There are others, lower or designed to sit on a piece of furniture. If you have something specific in mind, tell us and we will look into it on request.

    What makes an arcade machine

    The cabinet
Upright, against a wall, at head height.
    The controls
A joystick and buttons, for one or two players.
    The games
One, or several on a multi-game machine, depending on the model.

    Before you choose

Installing an arcade machine at home.

An arcade machine is easier to accommodate than a pinball machine. There are four points to check.

    Plan a whole games room
    1. Allow less than a square metre of floor for a standard-size upright cabinet, back to the wall, and a step back in front of the control panel.

      • Under 1 m²
      • Back to the wall
      • A step back
    2. The cabinet stands roughly at head height. So we check the doors, stairs and ceiling height along the way in.

      • About head height
    3. An arcade machine plugs into the mains, and one socket behind it is enough.

      • A socket
    4. Avoid a window facing the screen. The volume can usually be adjusted, so a machine can go in a living space.

      • No window opposite
      • Adjustable volume

    Around the machine

In the same room, a Jersey Jack Pinball machine, a Maison Toulet billiard table, a Maison Toulet or Cornilleau table football.

    Your questions, our answers.

Do you sell or rent arcade machines?

It depends on the machine and your project. We give you the models, their availability and the terms on request, by phone on 06 42 26 51 69 or through the quote form.

Do your arcade machines come from Maison Toulet or Jersey Jack Pinball?

No. Jersey Jack Pinball makes pinball machines, Maison Toulet makes billiard tables, table football, shuffleboards and table tennis tables, and Cornilleau makes table football. We offer these brands for the rest of the room. For the arcade machine, we give you the models and their terms on request.

Which games are on a multi-game arcade machine?

It depends on each machine. We send you the game list with the model. Tell us first which games or era matter to you.

Can two people play on an arcade machine?

Yes, when the control panel has two sets of controls side by side. This should be settled from the outset, as it affects the width of the cabinet.

How much space does an arcade machine need?

Less than a square metre of floor for a standard-size upright cabinet, plus a step back for the player or players. The cabinet stands roughly at head height. Exact dimensions are checked against the chosen model.

Can an arcade machine go in a living room?

Yes. It is a piece of furniture that needs a socket and a wall. Avoid placing it facing a window, because of reflections on the screen, and think about the volume, which can usually be adjusted.

    Do you work across Corsica?

Yes. The LumiDesign showroom is in Porticcio, near Ajaccio, and we work across Corsica, in Ajaccio, Porto-Vecchio, Bastia, Bonifacio, L’Île-Rousse and elsewhere on the island.
