A bespoke brise-soleil to control sunlight

Brise-soleil made to measure in Corsica, to protect your glazing and shape the façade.

Our bespoke brise-soleil give effective sun protection and suit your outdoor space. They are beautiful and built to last. The house gains in comfort and takes on a more modern look.

We work throughout Corsica: Ajaccio, Bastia, Porto-Vecchio, Bonifacio, Île-Rousse and elsewhere. We know our trade, we work with quality materials and we adapt each brise-soleil to your needs. The installation is meticulous, and it shows in the result.

Casa Duminica wooden louvres

Canopy louvres Parallel to the façade and angled, they block the high summer sun. In wood or aluminium.

Edge beam It holds the ends of the brackets and aligns the louvres along the whole length.

Brackets Cantilevered from the façade, one bracket per bay carries the louvres.

Plates Each bracket is fixed to the wall by a bolted plate, below the roof.

Rail under the beam The panel is fixed under the pergola beam and at the base, on the terrace.

Upright louvres They close one side of the pergola and block the low evening sun. Air passes between them.

Wall-mounted pergola The canopy takes the height of its roof: the two structures form a single line.

The brise-soleil, in place

You block the sun and keep the view.

  1. On 21 June at noon, the sun is at its highest. The canopy puts almost the whole glazed opening in shade. On 21 June at noon, the glazing is in shade.
  2. At 5 pm, it is low, in the west. The upright louvres keep most of the lounge in shade. At 5 pm, the upright louvres shade the lounge.
  3. At the equinox, it drops: the canopy only shades the top of the glazed opening. At the equinox, only the top stays in shade.
  4. On 21 December, it passes under the canopy: the glazing receives the winter sun. On 21 December, the winter sun comes in.

Choosing well

As a canopy, or as louvres.

The sun is stopped above the glazed opening, or in front of it.

Talk it over with us

Your façade

Dimensions, materials and colours are decided for each brise-soleil, designed to measure.

The need

The sun, the heat, the light.

In Corsica, a façade receives intense sunshine and endures high temperatures.

Describe my façade
Intense sunshine
It blocks the sun’s rays and lets natural light in.
High temperatures
It limits heat. Your rooms stay cool and the light stays pleasant.
Air conditioning
You use less air conditioning, so less energy.
A façade to shape
Its louvres create shadows and plays of light, in keeping with the architecture of your villa.
Bad weather
It is made of aluminium, wood or steel, robust materials that are easy to maintain.

Our method

From consultation to installation.

We work with you at every stage of the project.

Visit the showroom
  1. Stage 1: An in-depth first conversation

We start by understanding your needs and wishes.

  2. Stage 2: A made-to-measure design

Together we settle the dimensions, materials, colours and motorisation.

  3. Stage 3: Planning formalities

Prior declaration of works or planning permission: we support you in either case.

  4. Stage 4: A careful installation

We take great care over installation, so that your brise-soleil meets your expectations of quality, design and use.

Sun protection and façade design

The brise-soleil shields the house from the sun and gives it its style.

Designed for the architecture of your villa

Every project is different. So we work with you to make sure the brise-soleil suits the architecture of your villa and your taste.

A made-to-measure brise-soleil protects from the sun and also shapes the look of your property. Its louvres create subtle plays of light and elegant shadows that change the atmosphere of your outdoor space.

From the first meeting to installation

It all starts with an in-depth conversation about your needs and wishes. We then work with you at every stage of the project, from design to installation. Once installed, your made-to-measure brise-soleil should meet your expectations of quality, design and use.

Brise-soleil in Bastia

What changes in Bastia.

Raised paved terrace at sunset, wooden sofa with terracotta cushions under a large parasol, round coffee table, two sun loungers, potted olive trees, low stone walls, the harbour and a twin-towered church in the distance.

  1. The morning sun

A low sun, coming in head-on.

A canopy above a window stops the high midday sun well. The morning sun, though, is low on the horizon: it passes underneath and enters the room. On a façade facing the sea, it is the one that heats the living room before you have even had your coffee.

Against that sun, you need slats in front of the glass: adjustable ones tilt to cut the low rays and let the light in, through to darkness with the slats closed. Tellier also fits its slats vertically, in front of the façade.

  2. The façade

    On a town façade.

In a narrow street, there is not always room for a projecting canopy. The adjustable brise-soleil stays flat against the façade and retracts when you no longer want it. Roma houses a roller shutter, a brise-soleil or a fabric blind in the same box, the UNO system, and you can switch later.

For a balcony or a loggia, Tellier also makes sliding slatted shutters, AUSTRALE for homes. In an older building, a solar version from Roma, with panel and battery, avoids running a cable through the façade.

    See the Roma brise-soleil
  3. Wind and salt

    Slats that lift up.

On Roma systems, a wind sensor raises the brise-soleil above a set threshold, and a sun sensor lowers them again when the sun beats down: useful when the libeccio picks up while you are away. Bandalux states wind resistance up to 76 km/h for its Z70 and Z90 BSO, which is class 5 of the EN 13659 standard.

Near the harbour, salt attacks anything left unprotected. Tellier states Qualicoat, Seaside or Qualimarine certified finishes depending on the case, labels designed for the seaside. We look with you at the location and the maintenance to plan for.

Your questions, our answers.

Do you install brise-soleil in Bastia?

Yes. We install Tellierbrise-soleil, fixed or adjustable, and Roma and Bandaluxadjustable brise-soleil, in Bastia as everywhere in Corsica. The technical visit takes place at your home.

Fixed or adjustable brise-soleil for an east-facing façade?

The morning sun is low: a fixed canopy does little to stop it. Adjustable slats, or vertical slats in front of the window, cut it better. Our brise-soleil page explains how to choose.

Can an adjustable brise-soleil withstand the libeccio?

Bandalux states wind resistance up to 76 km/h for its Z70 and Z90 BSO. On Roma systems, a wind sensor raises the slats above a set threshold. Beyond the manufacturer’s figures, we look at your façade’s exposure on site.

Can a brise-soleil be fitted to a building in shared ownership?

Yes, with the agreement of the co-owners when the work affects the façade, which is most often the case. As for the town hall, a prior declaration is enough in most cases; we help you with these formalities.

How much does a brise-soleil cost in Bastia?

It is made to measure: its price depends on the model, the dimensions and the order. It is given on quotation, after the technical visit. The configurator lets you draw one beforehand.

How can I contact you to discuss my sun protection or outdoor design project?

Our team answers your questions and presents our services. You can reach us in three ways:

What is a brise-soleil and what are its benefits?

A brise-soleil controls sunlight and heat in the home. It blocks the sun’s rays, lets natural light in and enhances your outdoor space. As you use the air conditioning less, it also helps reduce energy consumption.

Which materials do you use to make bespoke brise-soleil?

We use high-quality materials such as aluminium, wood or steel. They are robust, weather-resistant and easy to maintain. Each brise-soleil is made to measure, to suit your space and your taste.

Can I personalise my brise-soleil?

Yes. Each brise-soleil is designed to measure, according to your needs and your project. You choose the dimensions, materials, colours and, if you wish, a motorisation system.
