A bespoke brise-soleil to control sunlight

Brise-soleil made to measure in Corsica, to protect your glazing and shape the façade.

Our bespoke brise-soleil give effective sun protection and suit your outdoor space. They are beautiful and built to last. The house gains in comfort and takes on a more modern look.

We work throughout Corsica: Ajaccio, Bastia, Porto-Vecchio, Bonifacio, Île-Rousse and elsewhere. We know our trade, we work with quality materials and we adapt each brise-soleil to your needs. The installation is meticulous, and it shows in the result.

Casa Duminica wooden louvres

Canopy louvres Parallel to the façade and angled, they block the high summer sun. In wood or aluminium.

Edge beam It holds the ends of the brackets and aligns the louvres along the whole length.

Brackets Cantilevered from the façade, one bracket per bay carries the louvres.

Plates Each bracket is fixed to the wall by a bolted plate, below the roof.

Rail under the beam The panel is fixed under the pergola beam and at the base, on the terrace.

Upright louvres They close one side of the pergola and block the low evening sun. Air passes between them.

Wall-mounted pergola The canopy takes the height of its roof: the two structures form a single line.

The brise-soleil, in place

You block the sun and keep the view.

  1. On 21 June at noon, the sun is at its highest. The canopy puts almost the whole glazed opening in shade. On 21 June at noon, the glazing is in shade.
  2. At 5 pm, it is low, in the west. The upright louvres keep most of the lounge in shade. At 5 pm, the upright louvres shade the lounge.
  3. At the equinox, it drops: the canopy only shades the top of the glazed opening. At the equinox, only the top stays in shade.
  4. On 21 December, it passes under the canopy: the glazing receives the winter sun. On 21 December, the winter sun comes in.

Choosing well

As a canopy, or as louvres.

The sun is stopped above the glazed opening, or in front of it.

Talk it over with us

Your façade

Dimensions, materials and colours are decided for each brise-soleil, designed to measure.

The need

The sun, the heat, the light.

In Corsica, a façade receives intense sunshine and endures high temperatures.

Describe my façade
Intense sunshine
It blocks the sun’s rays and lets natural light in.
High temperatures
It limits heat. Your rooms stay cool and the light stays pleasant.
Air conditioning
You use less air conditioning, so less energy.
A façade to shape
Its louvres create shadows and plays of light, in keeping with the architecture of your villa.
Bad weather
It is made of aluminium, wood or steel, robust materials that are easy to maintain.

From consultation to installation.

We work with you at every stage of the project.

Visit the showroom
  1. Stage 1: An in-depth first conversation

We start by understanding your needs and wishes.

  2. Stage 2: A made-to-measure design

Together we settle the dimensions, materials, colours and motorisation.

  3. Stage 3: Planning formalities

Prior declaration of works or planning permission: we support you in either case.

  4. Stage 4: A careful installation

We take great care over installation, so that your brise-soleil meets your expectations of quality, design and use.

Sun protection and façade design

The brise-soleil shields the house from the sun and gives it its style.

Designed for the architecture of your villa

Every project is different. So we work with you to make sure the brise-soleil suits the architecture of your villa and your taste.

A made-to-measure brise-soleil protects from the sun and also shapes the look of your property. Its louvres create subtle plays of light and elegant shadows that change the atmosphere of your outdoor space.

From the first meeting to installation

It all starts with an in-depth conversation about your needs and wishes. We then work with you at every stage of the project, from design to installation. Once installed, your made-to-measure brise-soleil should meet your expectations of quality, design and use.

Brise-soleil in Propriano

What changes in Propriano.

Woven sun loungers with beige cushions lined up under two grey parasols with wooden poles, on a light stone pool deck; stone and timber villa, anthracite grey pergola on the upper terrace and palm trees.

  1. West-facing glazing

Keeping the view, leaving the heat outside.

A house facing the gulf opens its windows to the west, and it is the afternoon sun that strikes them. Behind the glass, heat builds up in the floors and walls; an indoor curtain holds it back without stopping it getting in. The brise-soleil, fitted outside, stops it first.

Fitted as a fixed canopy over a south-facing window, it blocks the high July sun and lets in the lower January sun. As an adjustable version, it tilts through the afternoon to follow an ever lower sun, and can close completely if you wish.

  2. Tellier

Aluminium or wood, fixed or adjustable.

It is in Maine-et-Loire, at Chemillé-en-Anjou, that Tellier Brise-Soleil makes its aluminium and timber slats. Its AZUR slats have an aerofoil profile, the RECTI’LIGNE slats are rectangular; they are fitted horizontally as a canopy, or vertically in front of the façade.

For the coast, the manufacturer highlights Qualicoat, Seaside or Qualimarine certified finishes, case by case. We choose with you the colour of the slats, their spacing and their fixing points, taking into account the salt air rising from the beach.

    View Tellier brise-soleil
  3. Adjustable slats

Slats that adjust and lift in the wind.

According to Roma, its adjustable brise-soleil reflect up to 75 % of solar heat before it reaches the glass. A wind sensor raises them above a threshold, a sun sensor lowers them when the façade heats up: the house protects itself while you are at the beach.

Bandalux rates its Z70 and Z90 BSO to withstand winds of up to 76 km/h, class 5 under the EN 13659 standard. For a window far from any socket, Roma offers solar motorisation with a panel and battery.

Your questions, our answers.

Do you install brise-soleil in Propriano?

Yes, in town as well as in the villages of the Valinco and the Sartenais. The technical visit takes place at your home, then our team comes back to install. All our services are on the Propriano page.

On a façade facing the gulf, which slats should I choose?

On a west façade, the sun comes in low and head-on: a fixed canopy blocks part of it, adjustable slats follow it until evening. Our page on adjustable brise-soleil compares the two.

Do the slats withstand the salt air of the coast?

The finish is what counts: Tellier offers Qualicoat, Seaside or Qualimarine certified coatings. On site, we assess how exposed the façade is to sea spray.

Can a brise-soleil operate on its own when the house is empty?

Yes, with sensors. With Roma, the slats rise automatically when the wind exceeds a threshold, and come back down in the sun.

What budget should I plan for a brise-soleil in Propriano?

The price varies with the windows to equip, their size, the slats and the options. You receive it on quotation, after the technical visit. The configurator lets you put it together in 3D.

How can I contact you to discuss my sun protection or outdoor design project?

Our team answers your questions and presents our services. You can reach us in three ways:

What is a brise-soleil and what are its benefits?

A brise-soleil controls sunlight and heat in the home. It blocks the sun’s rays, lets natural light in and enhances your outdoor space. As you use the air conditioning less, it also helps reduce energy consumption.

Which materials do you use to make bespoke brise-soleil?

We use high-quality materials such as aluminium, wood or steel. They are robust, weather-resistant and easy to maintain. Each brise-soleil is made to measure, to suit your space and your taste.

Can I personalise my brise-soleil?

Yes. Each brise-soleil is designed to measure, according to your needs and your project. You choose the dimensions, materials, colours and, if you wish, a motorisation system.
