Cassette Fitted at the head of the opening, it houses the fabric rolled on its tube.
Fabric A blackout fabric makes the room dark, a light-filtering fabric softens the light, and some let you see through.
Side channels On each side, they guide the fabric; the bottom bar keeps it taut.
Exterior blind Fitted in front of the glazing, it stops the sun before it comes in.

You control the light.
- In the morning, the sun is still in the east. The blinds stay up and the view is clear. In the morning, the blinds stay up.
- At noon, it is at its highest, due south. The south blinds come down: the sun stays outside. At noon, the south blinds come down.
- In the late afternoon, it comes in from the west. As the fabric comes down, the patch of sun shrinks. At 5 pm, the sun comes in from the west.

The evening sun
A fabric that comes down as the sun sinks.
Facing the gulf, the late-day sun slips under every cover and strikes the living area at an angle. A vertical blind, rolled down halfway or to the ground, stops this low light where a roof can do nothing more. The awning, for its part, covers the terrace from above.
At Pratic, the T-Hide, T-Code, T-Way and Flex Box models retract into an aluminium cassette with built-in LED lighting. The T-Hide also lowers a motorised valance under the front of the fabric, precisely against the low sun.

Serge Ferrari fabrics
A fabric chosen for what it has to do.
For awnings, Serge Ferrari’s Soltis 96 is pierced with micro-perforations: air circulates under the fabric and you can see through it. For a vertical blind, the manufacturer claims up to 87 % of heat blocked with Soltis 86 and up to 97 % with Soltis Veozip.
These figures are maximums, which vary with the fabric and the colour. An open-weave fabric stops the sun but lets a shower through: if the terrace also needs to stay dry, a pergola takes over.

On windy days
A fabric held on both sides.
Wind picking up? You retract the awning, as you do before closing up the house. Pratic has patented two systems: FlexControl for its arm awnings, and Magnetic Lock System for its vertical blinds, which re-engages the fabric after a gust.
On the wind side, the Bandalux zip screen holds its fabric in side channels with a zip. Bandalux rates its Z-Box at wind class 6 under the EN 13561 standard, and offers a Z-Box Solar version, with panel, battery and motor, with no cable to run.

Do you install awnings in Propriano?
Yes, in Propriano and the Gulf of Valinco, as everywhere in Corsica. We take the measurements on site; our team handles the installation. Our other services are on the Propriano page.
How do I protect a terrace facing the gulf from the setting sun?
With a vertical blind, rolled down along the west side. Under a pergola, it is fixed between two posts. Awnings, vertical blinds, zip screens: it is all on our page on made-to-measure awnings.
Awning or pergola for a seaside house?
The awning opens when the sun beats down, then disappears into its cassette. The bioclimatic pergola stays in place and also shelters you from the rain. We discuss it on site.
Can a blind work without a power supply?
Yes, in a solar version. The Z-Box Solar by Bandalux draws its power from a small panel that charges a battery. At the visit, we check that the panel will get enough sun.
What does a made-to-measure awning cost in Propriano?
The price varies with the model, the dimensions, the fabric and the options chosen. We price it on quotation, after the technical visit. The configurator lets you put the awning together in 3D.
