Cassette Fitted at the head of the opening, it houses the fabric rolled on its tube.
Fabric A blackout fabric makes the room dark, a light-filtering fabric softens the light, and some let you see through.
Side channels On each side, they guide the fabric; the bottom bar keeps it taut.
Exterior blind Fitted in front of the glazing, it stops the sun before it comes in.
Operation Motorised control is an option, indoors and outdoors alike.

You control the light.
- In the morning, the sun is still in the east. The blinds stay up and the view is clear. In the morning, the blinds stay up.
- At noon, it is at its highest, due south. The south blinds come down: the sun stays outside. At noon, the south blinds come down.
- In the late afternoon, it comes in from the west. As the fabric comes down, the patch of sun shrinks. At 5 pm, the sun comes in from the west.
- In the evening, it skims the horizon. With the fabric down, it no longer dazzles. In the evening, fabric down, no more glare.

In town and on the heights
A town balcony, a terrace above.
Around Place Paoli, many balconies are narrow and space is short; on the heights, villas open onto wide terraces. The folding-arm awning suits both: it fixes to the wall or under a ceiling, with no foot on the ground.
Pratic houses its folding-arm awnings, T-Hide, T-Code, T-Way or Flex Box, in an aluminium cassette, with LED lighting. On the T-Hide, a motorised valance drops below the front of the fabric to stop the low late-afternoon sun.

Serge Ferrari fabrics
Choosing the fabric for the use.
For the folding-arm awning, Serge Ferrari recommends its Soltis 96, whose micro-perforations let air through and keep a view of the sea. For a vertical blind, the manufacturer offers screen fabrics: it states up to 87% of heat blocked with Soltis 86, and up to 97% with Soltis Veozip.
Serge Ferrari states a 5-year warranty on its Soltis fabrics, for the fabric alone and subject to its conditions. Bear in mind too that an open-weave fabric is still a shade fabric: in a downpour, water gets through.

On windy days
A fabric that no longer flaps.
A folding-arm awning dislikes gusts: you retract it when the wind strengthens, and always before closing up the house. On its folding-arm awnings, Pratic highlights an in-house patent, FlexControl.
For the exposed side of a terrace, the Bandalux zip screen holds its fabric in side channels with a zip. Bandalux rates its Z-Box at wind class 6 under the EN 13561 standard, and offers it as the Z-Box Solar: a solar panel, a battery and a motor, with no wiring.

Do you install folding-arm awnings in L’Île-Rousse?

Which awning or screen to close off a windy terrace?
A zip screen, ideally: the fabric is held along both sides and does not flap. Our page on made-to-measure awnings covers folding-arm awnings, vertical blinds and zip screens.
Awning or pergola for a terrace facing the sea?
The awning gives shade when you roll it out and disappears the rest of the time. The bioclimatic pergola stays in place and also protects from rain. We discuss it with you at the visit.
Can a blind be motorised without running a cable?
Yes, with a solar version. With Bandalux, the Z-Box Solar combines a panel, a battery and a motor. We check on site that the panel will get enough sun.
How much does a made-to-measure awning cost in L’Île-Rousse?
The price depends on the model, the width, the projection, the fabric and the options. We price it on quotation, after measuring at your home. The configurator lets you design your awning in 3D.
