Starting from how you live there
Where you eat, where you rest.
Coming back from the covered market in the morning, lunch outdoors, reading in the shade in the afternoon, watching the sea in the evening: a Balagne terrace is used for all of this. Before choosing a single piece of furniture, we look with you at how the day unfolds there.
Lunch needs solid shade; the lounge and sunloungers follow the path of the sun. After the technical visit, we place these areas and the protection that covers them, pergola, awning or sail. The configurator lets you sketch the terrace in 3D.

The furniture
Furniture that spends the summer outside.
Summer sun and salt air quickly wear out fragile materials. Kettal furniture combines aluminium, teak and hard-wearing fabrics in modular collections: lounge, table, sunloungers, put together to fit the terrace.
Serge Ferrari also weaves Batyline, its fabric for stretched seating, deckchairs and cushions; the manufacturer highlights its resistance to abrasion and UV and its easy care. In a house that is open a few months a year, a cushion that cleans quickly saves the first few days.

Parasols
Shade you can move.
A cantilever parasol frees the table from its pole. Jardinico, a Belgian brand based in Kortrijk, adjusts its JCP.3 along the pole with a slider and rotates it through 360° without moving the base; for a large poolside, the brand brings several canopies together on a single pole.
Jardinico gives a maximum wind speed for each parasol and asks for it to be closed as soon as the wind picks up. Its bases come in granite, sandstone, concrete or steel; near a pool, which is more exposed, the manufacturer recommends a heavier base.

Your questions, our answers.
Do you design terraces in L’Île-Rousse?
Yes, as everywhere in Corsica. After the technical visit, we design the layout with you, then our team installs it. For shade alone, see the L’Île-Rousse page and its five services.
Which outdoor furniture to choose near the sea?
Materials that stand up to sun and salt air. We offer Kettalfurniture, in aluminium, teak and hard-wearing fabrics. See also our page on outdoor furniture.
How do you place a parasol on a windy terrace?
Close it whenever the wind picks up, whatever the model. Day to day, its stability depends on its base: Jardinico offers them in granite, sandstone, concrete or steel. We choose the model and its position with you.
Can a pergola, awnings and an outdoor lounge be combined?
Yes, and it is the simplest way: shade and furniture are planned together. A pergola, awnings or a shade sail cover the furniture areas. Our page onoutdoor fit-out explains the approach.
How much does terrace design cost in L’Île-Rousse?
It depends on the area, the furniture and the shade chosen. We price it on quotation, after the technical visit at your home.
How can I contact you to discuss my sun protection or outdoor design project?
Our team answers your questions and presents our services. You can reach us in three ways:
- By phone, on +33 6 42 26 51 69, to discuss your project or book an appointment.
- By email, at contact@lumidesigncorse.com, for any information request. We reply as soon as possible.
- At the shop: 11 Pôle d’Activité de Porticcio, 20166 Grosseto-Prugna. It is open Monday to Friday and we welcome you by appointment for a personalised consultation.
Why choose a bespoke outdoor fit-out?
With a bespoke outdoor fit-out, you use all of your space, to suit your needs and your style. Everything can be personalised. Your garden, terrace or patio becomes more beautiful and more practical, and it is made for you.
What types of outdoor fit-out do you offer?
We create wooden decks, pergolas, lounge areas, outdoor dining areas, bespoke planting and outdoor storage. Every project is tailored to your expectations.
How do I know if my outdoor space is suitable for a bespoke fit-out?
During a consultation, our experts assess your outdoor space: its size, its shape and how you want to use it. We then advise you on the most comfortable and practical layout.
