Cassette Fitted at the head of the opening, it houses the fabric rolled on its tube.
Fabric A blackout fabric makes the room dark, a light-filtering fabric softens the light, and some let you see through.
Side channels On each side, they guide the fabric; the bottom bar keeps it taut.
Exterior blind Fitted in front of the glazing, it stops the sun before it comes in.

You control the light.
- In the morning, the sun is still in the east. The blinds stay up and the view is clear. In the morning, the blinds stay up.
- At noon, it is at its highest, due south. The south blinds come down: the sun stays outside. At noon, the south blinds come down.
- In the late afternoon, it comes in from the west. As the fabric comes down, the patch of sun shrinks. At 5 pm, the sun comes in from the west.
- In the evening, it skims the horizon. With the fabric down, it no longer dazzles. In the evening, fabric down, no more glare.

The awning
Shade that folds away.
An awning is the simplest answer for a terrace against the house, a balcony or a flat near the harbour. Extended, it covers the table in the hot hours; retracted into its cassette, it hides nothing the rest of the time.
We install Pratic T-Hide, T-Code, T-Way and Flex Box awnings, wall or ceiling mounted, with LED lighting in the cassette. For the fabric, Serge Ferrari recommends its Soltis 96: micro-perforated, it lets air through, so heat does not stay trapped underneath.

Windows and sides
In front of the window, at the side.
When the sun is low, in the morning or late in the day, an awning is no longer enough: the rays pass underneath. You need a vertical fabric. A zip screen drops in front of a window or closes off one side of a terrace; its fabric, held in the side channels by a zip, does not flap in the wind.
Bandalux rates its Z-Box 6 for wind under the EN 13561 standard, and makes a solar version with no wiring. Roma states that its zipSCREEN.2 covers up to 18 m². On the fabric side, Serge Ferrari states that Soltis 86 blocks up to 87% of the heat while keeping the view outside.

Rental house
Easy to operate, for everyone.
In a house let for the summer, the awning is used by people seeing it for the first time. Motorised control, available as an option, avoids forced cranks. For gusts, Pratic highlights two patents: FlexControl on its arm awnings, and Magnetic Lock System on its vertical screens, which re-engages the fabric after a gust of wind.
Indoors too, the light can be adjusted: a blackout blind in the bedrooms, a roller blind in front of a large window, a venetian blind to keep the view. During the technical visit, we go round the openings with you and look at the exposure of each façade.

Do you install awnings in Porto-Vecchio?

Awning or zip screen for a terrace in Porto-Vecchio?
An awning gives shade over the terrace when the sun is high. A zip screen drops vertically, in front of a window or along one side, when the sun comes in low. Many terraces benefit from having both. You can design yours in the configurator.
Does an awning stand up to the wind near the sea?
Pratic highlights its FlexControl patent on its arm awnings. But an awning is still made for shade: you retract it when the wind gets up. During the visit, we look with you at the terrace’s exposure and the wind it gets.
When should you order awnings and blinds for the summer?
Before the season: a made-to-measure awning or blind is measured at your home, manufactured, then installed. For a rental house, it is best to have everything in place before the first tenants. The lead time depends on the project; ask for it with your quote.
How much does an awning or blind cost in Porto-Vecchio?
