We design and install made-to-measure bioclimatic pergolas, suited to conditions in Corsica. Their adjustable louvres control sunlight and ventilation, summer and winter alike. We work across the island: Ajaccio, Bastia, Porto-Vecchio, Bonifacio, Île-Rousse and elsewhere.
The structure is aluminium, robust and precisely made. It comes from Biossun, a manufacturer founded in 2009, and Victor Paquelet, who runs LumiDesign, has been installing pergolas since 2015. We design each pergola for the place where it will stand, on a terrace, by a pool or in a garden, so that it fits in and lasts.

Biossun states that all its models are certified by the CSTB, the French Scientific and Technical Centre for Building, with which it has worked since 2013. According to the manufacturer, this certification guarantees that the pergola withstands everyday weather conditions.

In summer in Porto-Vecchio, a terrace without a roof is unbearable at lunchtime. A bioclimatic pergola solves this: with the louvres closed, it casts full shade over the table; half open, it lets the rising hot air escape and keeps a striped shade.
It is useful in the evening and out of season too. With the louvres open, the terrace gets the sky back; closed, they keep off a shower. With Pratic, the rain then runs to an integrated drainage system and down through gutters hidden in the posts.
In a villa with a pool, the pergola is attached to the house, over the living-room terrace, or freestanding, near the pool or the summer kitchen. We design it around the spot: the view of the gulf, the slope of the land, the trees to keep.
For a house let for the summer, the controls matter as much as the structure. Pratic offers remote control, an app or voice control, optional weather sensors and dimmable LED lighting. Side blinds or glazing close off one side when needed.
On the edge of the gulf or near the southern beaches, the air carries salt. Pratic states that its aluminium has a Qualicoat Seaside certified pre-treatment and Qualicoat Class 2 powder coatings, designed for salt, humidity and UV. Biossun, which makes its pergolas in Isère, states that all its models are certified by the CSTB.
In a pine wood, needles settle on the louvres and in the gutters. During the technical visit, we look at the trees overhead, the exposure and the access, and we tell you what maintenance to expect. A pergola generally needs a prior declaration of works: we help you with the paperwork.

Biossun or Pratic: which pergola for a villa in Porto-Vecchio?
We install both. Biossun makes its bioclimatic pergolas in Isère. With Pratic, the louvres rotate, slide or stack depending on the model. The choice is made on site, based on the terrace, the view and how you use it.
When should you order a pergola to enjoy it from the start of summer?
Before the season, and the earlier the better: there is the technical visit, the quote, the paperwork at the town hall, then made-to-measure manufacturing and installation. We do not give a lead time without seeing the project; ask for it with your quote.
Do you need permission to install a pergola in Porto-Vecchio?
In most cases, a prior declaration of works is enough. For an area of more than 20 m² or in a protected zone, planning permission may be required. We help you with the paperwork.
Louvred pergola or fabric pergola?
A bioclimatic pergola has a roof of motorised aluminium louvres. A fabric pergola has a PVC fabric roof that slides and folds back. Both can be freestanding or attached to the house; the price of each is given on quotation, after the visit.

What is a bioclimatic pergola and what are its advantages?
