The terrace
Shade, table, lounge: together.
On the limestone plateau, a terrace almost always starts out without shade. Before choosing furniture, you need to know where you will eat, where you will rest, where the afternoon sun falls and where the wind comes from. We design with you the dining area, the lounge space, the poolside, then the shade to go with them: pergola, awning, sail or parasol.
For a house let for the season, the layout also has to make sense at a glance: shade that is simple to operate, clear walkways, furniture in its place. You can put together a first idea of your terrace in 3D in our configurator, even before the visit.

The furniture
Furniture for the seaside.
We offer Kettal outdoor furniture: lounge sets, tables and sun loungers in aluminium, teak and durable fabrics. The collections are modular, which helps on an irregularly shaped terrace, of the kind often found between two dry-stone walls or on a roof in the upper town.
Against salt and strong sun, materials do not all age in the same way: we talk it through with you before choosing, at the Porticcio showroom or at your home. Small terrace or large garden, we look for the layout that takes account of the space you have, then our team installs the furniture itself.

Parasols
A parasol and the west wind.
The parasol is still the most flexible shade: you move it, you close it. We offer those from Jardinico, a Belgian brand from Kortrijk: cantilevered, to leave the table free, or with a central pole. The JCP.3 rotates through 360° without moving its base.
In Bonifacio, a parasol is often closed. Jardinico gives a maximum wind speed for each model, 58 km/h for its large aluminium parasols, less for its wooden ones, and asks for it to be closed as soon as the wind picks up. Near a pool, which is more exposed, it recommends a heavier base. Wind damage is not covered by its warranty.

Your questions, our answers.
Do you handle outdoor design for villas in Bonifacio?
Yes. Our showroom is in Porticcio, near Ajaccio, and we work throughout Corsica. We come to see your terrace in Bonifacio, then design the shade and the furniture with you. See our page onoutdoor fit-out.
Which outdoor furniture suits a terrace in Bonifacio?
We offer Kettal lounge sets, tables and sun loungers in aluminium, teak and durable fabrics, in modular collections. We choose the materials with you, according to the exposure to salt and sun. See also our page on outdoor furniture.
Will a parasol stand up to the wind in Bonifacio?
Jardinico gives a maximum wind speed of 58 km/h for its large aluminium parasols, less for its wooden ones, and asks for them to be closed as soon as the wind picks up. For shade that stays in place, look at the bioclimatic pergola or the brise-soleil.
Can a balcony or a roof be fitted out in the upper town?
Yes, from a small terrace to a large garden. In the upper town, we first look at the space, the access through the narrow streets and what the structure can bear. For shade, a wall-mounted awning or a shade sail takes up little floor space.
How much does outdoor design cost in Bonifacio?
It depends on what the project includes: furniture, shade, dimensions. We set the price on quotation, after the visit to your home.
How can I contact you to discuss my sun protection or outdoor design project?
Our team answers your questions and presents our services. You can reach us in three ways:
- By phone, on +33 6 42 26 51 69, to discuss your project or book an appointment.
- By email, at contact@lumidesigncorse.com, for any information request. We reply as soon as possible.
- At the shop: 11 Pôle d’Activité de Porticcio, 20166 Grosseto-Prugna. It is open Monday to Friday and we welcome you by appointment for a personalised consultation.
Why choose a bespoke outdoor fit-out?
With a bespoke outdoor fit-out, you use all of your space, to suit your needs and your style. Everything can be personalised. Your garden, terrace or patio becomes more beautiful and more practical, and it is made for you.
What types of outdoor fit-out do you offer?
We create wooden decks, pergolas, lounge areas, outdoor dining areas, bespoke planting and outdoor storage. Every project is tailored to your expectations.
How do I know if my outdoor space is suitable for a bespoke fit-out?
During a consultation, our experts assess your outdoor space: its size, its shape and how you want to use it. We then advise you on the most comfortable and practical layout.
