Outdoor design in Calvi: furniture and shade in the BalagneLiving outdoors.

Paved terrace in late-afternoon light: a wood and rope sofa and armchair with terracotta cushions, a round blue coffee table on a jute rug, two sun loungers and a cantilever parasol; an olive tree and a stone façade on the left; in the background, the bay and the citadel of Calvi. — **Illustration · lounge set and sun loungers facing the bay**

A terrace facing the bay is thought through as a whole: where you eat, where you rest, where the shade falls. We design it with you, with Kettal furniture, Jardinico parasols and our sun protection.

Outdoor fit-out in Calvi

What changes in Calvi.

Anthracite louvred pergola over a paved terrace: a large wooden table, woven chairs, a stone summer kitchen with a barbecue; in the background, the citadel of Calvi on its headland, the bay and the mountains. — **Illustration** louvred pergola facing the citadel

The areas

Eating, resting, looking out over the bay.

In a family house in the Balagne, the terrace is used for everything: lunch with a crowd, the siesta, an aperitif facing the bay. So we start with how it is used, then place the furniture and the shade, not the other way round.
The dining area needs shade in the middle of the day; the lounge and the sun loungers follow the sun. We design these areas with you after the technical visit, together with the pergola, awning or sail that will cover them. The configurator lets you make a start in 3D.

The furniture

Furniture that stays outside.

The salt from the bay and the dry summer sun wear down whatever stays outside. Kettal makes its outdoor furniture in aluminium and teak, upholstered in fabrics made to last, in modular collections: lounge sets, tables and sun loungers, put together to suit the size of the terrace.
For sling seats, deckchairs and cushions, Serge Ferrari also weaves a fabric, Batyline, for which it highlights resistance to abrasion and UV and easy care. In a second home, materials that clean quickly when you return save time.

Parasols

A parasol that closes before the wind.

A cantilever parasol leaves the table clear. At Jardinico, a Belgian brand based in Kortrijk, the JCP.3 adjusts along its mast and rotates through 360° without touching the base. For large pool surrounds, the brand also brings several canopies together on a single mast.
With the libeccio, the rule is simple: Jardinico gives a maximum wind speed for each parasol and asks for it to be closed as soon as the wind gets up. Near a pool, which is more exposed, the manufacturer recommends a heavier base. We take this into account when positioning the parasol.

Your questions, our answers.

Do you design terraces in Calvi and the Balagne?

Yes, as everywhere in Corsica. After the technical visit, we design the layout with you, then our team installs it. For shade alone, see also the Calvi page and its five services.

Which outdoor furniture should I choose in the Balagne, near the sea?

Materials that can take the sun and the salt air. We offer Kettalfurniture, lounge sets, tables and sun loungers in aluminium and teak. See also our page on outdoor furniture.

Which parasol for a terrace exposed to the wind?

A parasol is still a parasol: you close it when the libeccio picks up. What makes the difference is its everyday stability, and so its base, in granite, sandstone, concrete or steel from Jardinico. We choose the model, its base and its position on the terrace with you.

Can a pergola, awnings and furniture be combined?

Yes, it is actually the simplest way: shade and furniture are planned together. A pergola, awnings or a shade sail cover the areas the furniture occupies. Our page onoutdoor fit-out explains the approach.

How much does outdoor design cost in Calvi?

It all depends on the area, the furniture and the shade chosen. We set it out in a quote, after the technical visit at your home.

How can I contact you to discuss my sun protection or outdoor design project?

Our team answers your questions and presents our services. You can reach us in three ways:

Why choose a bespoke outdoor fit-out?

With a bespoke outdoor fit-out, you use all of your space, to suit your needs and your style. Everything can be personalised. Your garden, terrace or patio becomes more beautiful and more practical, and it is made for you.

What types of outdoor fit-out do you offer?

We create wooden decks, pergolas, lounge areas, outdoor dining areas, bespoke planting and outdoor storage. Every project is tailored to your expectations.

How do I know if my outdoor space is suitable for a bespoke fit-out?

During a consultation, our experts assess your outdoor space: its size, its shape and how you want to use it. We then advise you on the most comfortable and practical layout.
