Outdoor fit-out in Cap Corse

What changes in Cap Corse.

Pergola with an anthracite frame and open louvres, in front of the wall of a stone house; beneath it, a long wooden table, woven chairs, two wicker pendant lights and an outdoor kitchen. Beyond the dry-stone wall, a waterside village, a round tower on the headland and the mountainous coast. — **Illustration** pergola on a terrace above a small harbour

The slope

A terraced garden, one use per level.

In the Cap, gardens often step down towards the sea in terraces. Rather than looking for one large flat terrace, each level is given a use: dining near the kitchen, the lounge a little lower facing the view, the sun loungers where the sun stays longest.
We design the whole with you: the dining area, the lounge space, exotic wood decking with the finishes you choose, planting, storage. You can sketch a first version in our layout configurator before the technical visit.

The furniture

Furniture that stays outside.

At the end of a narrow road, you don’t bring the lounge furniture in at every gust. Kettal furniture is made of aluminium, teak and durable fabrics, and its collections are modular: you put together a lounge to suit a narrow terrace, then add to it.
For cushions and sling seats, Serge Ferrari makes Batyline fabric; the manufacturer highlights its resistance to abrasion and UV, and its easy care. Near the sea, these are the points to look at before the colour.

Parasols

Movable shade, closed when the wind blows.

A parasol complements a pergola or a sail where the shade needs to move with the sun. At Jardinico, the JCP.3 cantilever parasol rotates 360° without moving the base. Each parasol has its own base, in granite, sandstone, concrete or steel, and the manufacturer recommends a heavier base in spots exposed to the wind.
Jardinico gives a maximum wind speed for each parasol, 58 km/h for the JCP.2 to JCP.5, and asks for the parasol to be closed as soon as the wind picks up. In the Cap, it is a rule worth remembering: we choose with you the most sheltered spot on the terrace.

Your questions, our answers.

Do you do outdoor design in Cap Corse?

Yes. Our showroom is in Porticcio, near Ajaccio, and we work throughout Corsica, Cap Corse included. The technical visit takes place at your home, then our team installs. See our page onoutdoor fit-out.

How do you lay out a sloping garden in the Cap?

In terraces: one use per level, dining, lounge, sunbathing. The shade is chosen for each level, pergola, shade sail or parasol, according to the sun and wind it gets.

What outdoor furniture for a seaside terrace?

Furniture that can stay outside. Kettal furniture is made of aluminium, teak and durable fabrics. See also our page on outdoor furniture.

Does a parasol stand up to the wind in Cap Corse?

Jardinico gives a maximum wind speed for each parasol, 58 km/h for the JCP.2 to JCP.5, and asks for it to be closed as soon as the wind picks up. It recommends a heavier base in exposed spots.

How much does outdoor design cost in Cap Corse?

Each project is made to measure: its price depends on what it includes and the installation conditions. We set it on quotation, after the technical visit.
